Living Operations Supervisor

Location(s):

The LOH Supervisor works in a fasted pasted environment. The Supervisor reports to the LOH Production Manager. The chosen candidate must provide leadership and direction to hourly personnel in our warehouse within this site. Upon completion of the training period the supervisor will carry out the production requirements of the department according to good food manufacturing practices while maintaining proper standards of quality assurance, safety and employee relations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ability to work 7 days a week when needed to meet all production levels
  • Maintain and ensure the safety of all teammates; trains and enforces all safety rules and compliance will all company’s policies and procedures
  • Responsible for supervising activities within both divisions of living production: herbs and microgreen
  • Initiates and maintains operational changes to reduce waste of both time and materials in both divisions
  • Responsible for the training of team leads and the general workforce to improve operational metrics
  • Responsible for driving new hire initiatives and worker retention
  • Responsible for food safety and organic compliance including use of proper worker PPE and creating of records
  • Monitors labor hours to minimize overtime while executing rolling demand
  • Communicates deadlines to ensure product is completed on time
  • Responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting various key performance indicators to management
  • Assists in collection and analyzation of data for research and development initiatives
  • Responsible for facility expenses, including the tracking and reporting thereof to management
  • Performs other duties per management as needed

Requirements:

  • Bilingual: Spanish and English
  • Has experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment with hyper-perishable products
  • Ability to work with high efficiency and quality
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed by the management
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Able to maneuver and work in areas with limited clearances
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Meets demanding deadlines
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Understands basic principles of worker safety in a production area

Non-Essential Requirements:

  • 2 to 3 Yrs. of experience in Horticulture or related area
  • Highly organized
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish preferred
